Replace Your Acer Laptop Screen – A Step By Step Guide
Acer laptop screens are quite delicate just like any other LCD screens. LCD screens are basically made from the liquid crystal that is slotted in between two plates of glass. If they are not handled properly or dropped, they can and will break easily. It can also cause some electronic faults in your Acer laptop’s LCD screen.
The inverter board inside your laptop supplies power to the LCD backlight, which lets you to view the graphics and video on your LCD laptop screen. Even a minor fault in your inverter board can cause your LCD screen either start to dim or go black. The good news is that you can easily replace your Acer laptop screen. Below is the step by step guide to help you replace your Acer Laptop Screen quite easily.
- First of all, shut down your laptop¸ close the LCD screen and detach all the cables from your laptop. Now place your laptop face down and pull out the battery back from the bottom of the laptop.
- Flip the laptop over and open the LCD screen as far as possible. Now remove the rubber screw covers from the front bezel of your laptop screen. You can use a small, flat-head screwdriver for this purpose. After removing the screw covers, unscrew the Phillips-head screws from the front bezel of your laptop screen.
- Grab the edges of the bezel and detach it from your Acer LCD screen.
- Unscrew all the Phillips-head screws protecting the LCD screen to the LCD panel. Now grasp the top edge of your screen (Caution: Don’t touch the actual screen), tilt the screen downward until you are able to see the back of the screen.
- Detach the LCD video cable from the back of your Laptop screen. Now remove your Acer Laptop Screen from the LCD panel and set it aside.
- Attach the LCD Video cable to the connector on the back side of your New Acer Laptop Screen. Set your new Acer laptop screen inside the LCD panel and replace the retained Phillips head screws of your Laptop Screen. Replace the font bezel¸ its retaining screws as well as the rubber screw covers.
- Replace the battery pack and reconnect all the cables to the laptop. Now switch on your laptop to test the new Acer laptop screen.
- If you are uncomfortable in replacing your Acer laptop screen, your are suggested to take your laptop into a certified Computer or Laptop Repair shop to get it replaced with the certified technician.
