Is the recent price drop on laptops the result of Vista OS?

I have noticed many great deals on laptops lately, all of these have Vista operating systems. Are these units being discounted because of the unpopularity of Vista or is it because of other reasons like too many units in inventory — too much supply and not enough demand? Or, is there another reason?

I think it’s because of Vista, honestly. Vista is the downfall to computers as we know it. My aunt has a computer that she loaded Vista on and it doesn’t even turn on anymore. Some of the programs require updates and others just don’t run at all. It doesn’t even completely work on the new laptops/computers.
