Is it ok to permanently remove the battery from a Dell laptop computer and use the normal supplied ac house vo

“Just wimpy” has not tried this yet.
Are there any safety considerations?
My ? refers to a Dell Inspiron 1000.
Will the computer still turn on normally?
Can the computer still be shut down or put in standby or hibernate mode for an extended period of time?
If house power fails will I lose everything?

You can run a laptop with the battery removed. In fact they recommend you do this to keep from overcharging the battery.

IF the power fails you will loose what ever is open like a word DOC unless auto save is on (MS Word). JUst like a desktop when you loose power.

All the functions on the computer will still work as normal.
